It’s a unique saree that combines contemporary and traditional design patterns. A unique interpretation of Sun and moon is printed in the saree.
The body of the saree when draped exhibits one of its kind contemporary leheriya pattern and the palla is a combination of beautiful traditional ajrakh motifs.
The fabric is extremely soft, flowly and easy to drape. The modal silk has its beautiful muted sheen.
Ajrakh handblock printing is a unique art form that is done using natural color dyes and impeccable hand block printing skills thus giving the saree a very earthy and classic look and feel.
The craft of Ajrakh hand-block printing and natural dyeing is more than 4000 years old and is practiced by Khatri community of Kutch and Sindh. Ajrakh textiles are distinguished by jewel-like colors and geometric, floral and architectural patterns. The cloth is made in a 16-step process and requires a high level of skill, labour and concentration.
The product is fully sustainable and encourages rural employment along with revival of heritage handlooms and art of handloom weaving and hand spinning.
